The Martinsville Planning Study for Downtown Revitalization is finished and
ready to send to the State for much needed funding to begin the revitalization phase. This planning study for downtown revitalization has been funded by a Community Focus Fund grant from the State of Indiana. Local sponsors are the City of Martinsville, Rediscover Martinsville, Greater Martinsville Chamber of Commerce, Morgan County Historic Preservation Society, Morgan County, and the Reporter-Times. Many hours have been spent by the steering committee and those professionals from Odle, McGuire and Shook architects in putting this study together, as well as business and building owners and concerned citizens who have poured over the pages, like the one on the left, many times just to get everything right. Congratulations to those who spent the countless hours, to those who love this town and want to see revitalization happen. Soon we will be able to say "it was worth the effort", and "welcome to Martinsville..............it's more than you expect".
